The Troika led by Igrath Winters is is a custom fictional civilization mod by SharkyMcSnarkface. It is based upon the webcomic Dreamkeepers.

Overview[]

The Troika[]

The Troika is a mysterious and highly secretive organization that seeks the legalization of Dreamkeeper powers to protect against the Nightmares the Andurunan City Central Authority claims to be only mere fiction. They are highly advanced, seeing as they have come up with springers and telepads that are superior to that of the CCA's. With a number of safehouses around Anduruna and agents everywhere, their influence has not gone unnoticed by the CCA, whom at every moment seek to stamp out these rebellious elements.

Igrath Winters[]

Igrath Winters is the leading member of the Troika. Previously captain of the guard in Anduruna, he was framed for the murder of his wife, and now leads the Troika in rebellion against his former colleagues. Before being captain of the guard, he was a Fallguard player (an Andurunan sport), and a rather popular one at that. Before his exile from Anduruna publicity during his time as Guard Captain, he met up with Scinter while he was investigating the sale of Scinter's famous fermentae, Scinter's Mark. What exactly happened between the two is entirely unclear, but from that day forward they worked together and became friends.

You have shown exceptional leadership; boosting morale among your ranks when the situation is dire, and leading the charge with your power to protect. Your selfless struggle to raze the authoritarian tyrants to the ground may not be loved by the masses, but you have proven an honorable would-be saviour to the last Dreamkeepers of Anduruna.

Now once again is the time to raise your secret armies against the forces that would destroy Dreamkeeper kind. But never forget that you are defined by your morals, that you must balance what is right and what must be done. The brave new world waits. Spread your wings, and power up. Can you build a civilization that will stand the test of time?"

Strategy[]

Troika

The main ability of the Troika is very chance-based. Sometimes units will gain promotions that are not ideal to them, other times RNG just hates you and hits you with undeveloped power. In any case, the Troika is still a powerful civilization if you can adjust to whatever the random numbers decide to churn out for your land armies. Keep in mind your naval capabilities are just the same as any other regular civ. An extra spy is always useful to have, allowing you to rig one extra city-sate, or spy on one extra civ. Outside of combat situations, the Troika enjoys large, prosperous cities thanks to their happiness bonus, giving you the ability to shrug off happiness penalties such as from differing ideologies easier. Their Guillotine Operatives function radically different from marines, supplementing your main army by ambushing enemy forces and then slipping away before they can retaliate. The Fermentae Brewery gives the Troika an economic edge, by turning barren desert into great sources of gold, along with additional FermentaeIcon fermentae produced by the Troika being able to be traded away. In all, befitting of the underground militia, the Troika is suited best for a domination victory. With their unique (if random) promotions, and their ability to generate lots of gold, their armies will grow large and in charge.
