Overview[]
The Crow[]
The Crow are a Plains tribe, who speak the Crow language, part of the Missouri River Valley branch of Siouan languages. During the expansion into the West, the Crow Nation was allied with the United States against its neighbors and rivals, the Sioux and Cheyenne. In historical times, the Crow lived in the Yellowstone River valley, which extends from present-day Wyoming, through Montana and into North Dakota, where it joins the Missouri River. Since the 19th century, Crow people have been concentrated on their reservation established south of Billings, Montana. Today, they live in several major, mainly western, cities. Tribal headquarters are located at Crow Agency, Montana.
Joe Medicine Crow[]
Joe Medicine Crow was a Native American writer, historian and war chief of the Crow Nation. His writings on Native American history and reservation culture are considered seminal works, but he is best known for his writings and lectures concerning the Battle of the Little Bighorn of 1876. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a scout in the 103rd Infantry Division of the US Army. He received the Bronze Star Medal and the Légion d'honneur for his service during World War II. In 2009, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama. Medicine Crow was a founding member of the Traditional Circle of Indian Elders and Youth. He was the last war chief of the Crow Nation and the last Plains Indian war chief.

"Hail, the last War Chief of the Crow, Joe Medicine Crow, writer historian, and decorated war veteran. Born on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana, you grew up with a keen interest in the Battle of Little Bighorn, which your step grandfather had told you about. Turning this passion into a career, you became involved in academia, becoming the first member of the Crow tribe to obtain a master's degree, among other accolades. But World War II called all able-bodied men to service, and you answered the call. Wearing war paint and a sacred yellow painted eagle feather beneath your greens, you became your people's last war chief; beating a Nazi in hand-to-hand combat, taking his weapon, leading a successful war party, and stealing fifty horses from an SS camp. Returning to the United States, you helped your people in a number of agencies such as the Crow Agency and Bureau of Indian Affairs. Before your death, you were celebrated with a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Lead A Victorious War Party: Obained by directly attacking a city, or plundering a Barbarian Encampment. This unit gains faster healing and +10%  Combat Strength when outside Friendly lands.
