Overview

Tagalogs

Aptly named "the people of the river", the hardy and adaptable Tagalogs are the second largest ethnolingustic group in the Philippines.

Kalangitan

A mythical figure in early Philippine history, Dayang Kalangitan presided over the kingdom of Tondo's golden age, when it spanned from the southern Cordilleras down to Ibalon (now known as Bicol).

Thriving along the mighty rivers of the island of Luzon, the Tagalogs are a merchant people, trading wares with China, Malaya, India, and even distant Arabia. They are a noble race as well, fighting in numerous conflicts around Southeast Asia and forming the heart of the resistance against the Spanish colonizers. It was under your capable hands that the Tagalog lordship of Tondo reached its apex, its influence reaching from distant Ibalon in the south to the feet of the great Cordillera mountains in the north. Though the rest of your exceptional deeds have been lost to time, your people remember you fondly as one of their greatest rulers.
