Overview[]

Sanada[]

The Sanada clan is a Japanese samurai clan. The Sanada were long associated with Matsushiro Domain in modern-day Nagano (city), Nagano Prefecture.

Sanada Yukimura[]

Sanada Nobushige, more popularly known as Sanada Yukimura, was a Japanese samurai warrior of the Sengoku period. He was especially known as the leading general on the defending side of the Siege of Osaka. Yukimura was called "once-in-a-lifetime hero", "Crimson Demon of War" and "The Last Sengoku Hero". The famed veteran of the invasion of Korea, Shimazu Tadatsune, called him "the best warrior in Japan".

Dawn of Man[]

"Praises be upon you, Sanada Nobushige, last hero of the Warring States. A second son, you joined the Western forces of Ishida Mitsunari in a political gamble, while your brother Nobuyuki joined the Eastern army of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Though you would put up ferocious resistance in the siege of Ueda, the gamble would ultimately be lost in the Battle of Sekigahara, resulting in complete Tokugawa dominion of all Japan. Despite this, your loyalty to the old Toyotomi regime remained unshaken. You would take up your spear one final time at the Siege of Osaka in 1614 AD, where your bravery would be immortalized as a symbol of resistance againsts the new order for centuries to come.

Most honorable Yukimura, you must once again harness the strength of a hero that comes only once in a hundred years. The foes you will face are as unyielding as ever, their obstinacy and determination no less than those of your old enemies. Even so, can you pick up your cross spear and once again stand against overwhelming odds? Can you build a civilization to stand the test of time?"

Introduction: "I, Yukimura, come before you as representative of the Sanada clan. Our loyalty to friends and ferocity against enemies are both unmatched; you would do well to remember this."

Defeat: "Come and take my head, if you think yourself warrior enough to do so!"
