Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a country in South Asia. It is the world's fifth-most populous country. Pakistan is the site of several ancient cultures, including the 8,500-year-old Neolithic site of Mehrgarh in Balochistan, and the Indus Valley civilisation of the Bronze Age. The regions that comprise the modern state of Pakistan were the realm of multiple empires and dynasties, including the Achaemenid, the Maurya, the Ghaznavids, the Delhi Sultanate, the Mughals, and most recently, the British Raj from 1858 to 1947. Spurred by the Pakistan Movement, which sought a homeland for the Muslims of British India, and election victories in 1946 by the All-India Muslim League, Pakistan gained independence in 1947 after the Partition of the British Indian Empire, which awarded separate statehood to its Muslim-majority regions and was accompanied by an unparalleled mass migration and loss of life. Pakistan officially drafted its constitution in 1956, and emerged as a declared Islamic republic. In 1971, the exclave of East Pakistan seceded as the new country of Bangladesh after a nine-month-long civil war.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah[]

Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a barrister, politician and the founder of Pakistan. Jinnah served as the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until the inception of Pakistan on 14 August 1947, and then as the Dominion of Pakistan's first governor-general until his death. He is revered in Pakistan as the Quaid-e-Azam, or Great Leader, and Baba-e-Qaum, or Father of the Nation. His birthday is observed as a national holiday in Pakistan.

Dawn of Man[]

"Stand proudly, oh Muhammad Ali Jinnah, First Governor-General of Pakistan, Great Leader and Father of the Nation. Educated in law in the United Kingdom, you returned to India to advocate independence, rising to prominence in the India National Congress and All-India Muslim League as a Muslim leader advocating for Hindu-Muslim unity. But as time marched on, you came to see that the only way forward was a separate state, for which you passed the Lahore Resolution, demanding a state for Muslims. It was this desire that led to the creation of Pakistan. Much debate was had about the borders, with various princely states having arguments made for joining either India or Pakistan. But on the publication of the Radcliffe Line, the partition of India and Pakistan sparked mass migration and ethnic cleansing. As Governor-General, you sought to assist the Muslim migrants relocate to Pakistan. The Governor-General was a powerful office, but you were extremely ill with tuberculosis. Even in your hour of triumph, you were dying.

Oh Baba-e-Qaum, your gains were hard fought, and you must not lose them. Corruption and violence are increasing. Can you restore the faith of the nation in the government? Will you build a civilization that can stand the test of time?"

Introduction: "I bid you welcome to Pakistan. God has given us a grand opportunity to show our worth as architects of a State; let it not be said that we will not prove equal to the task."

Defeat: "The weak and the defenceless, in this imperfect world, invite aggression from others. I believed there to be no power on earth that could undo Pakistan, though it seems I was tragically mistaken."
