Hyderabad State, also known as Hyderabad Deccan, was was a princely state located in the south-central region of India with its capital at the city of Hyderabad. The state was ruled from 1724 to 1857 by the Nizam, who was initially a viceroy of the Mughal empire in the Deccan. Hyderabad gradually became the first princely state to come under British paramountcy signing a subsidiary alliance agreement. It was an exceedingly wealthy princely state. The dynasty declared itself an independent monarchy during the final years of the British Raj. After the Partition of India, Hyderabad signed a standstill agreement with the new dominion of India, continuing all previous arrangements except for the stationing of Indian troops in the state.

Osman Ali Khan[]

Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII was the last Nizam of the Princely State of Hyderabad, the largest princely state in British India. He ascended the throne on 29 August 1911, at the age of 25 and ruled the Kingdom of Hyderabad between 1911 and 1948, until India annexed it. On 22 February 1937, Time featured him on its cover as the world's richest person. He was known as the Architect of modern Hyderabad and is credited with establishing many public institutions in the city of Hyderabad. The Nizam originally wanted to join India, but after its independence in 1947, he did not wish to accede his state to the newly formed nation. By then, his power had weakened because of the Telangana Rebellion and the rise of a radical militia known as the Razakars whom he could not put down.

Dawn of Man[]

"Long life to you, His Exalted Highness, Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII, proud and philanthropic Nizam of Hyderabad! You rule over the great State of Hyderabad, a nation rich in culture and prosperity, but even richer in mineral wealth. From the diamond mines of Golconda you amassed an unimaginably large personal fortune, making you by many accounts the richest person in the world during your reign. But you were not content to merely hoard your wealth, instead donating millions to improve the lives of your subjects, modernising your domain, establishing a robust public infrastructure, providing free education, and contributing immensely to both spiritual and scientific endeavours. Although in your later years you were overthrown and your nation was annexed, you remained a beloved figure, and your funeral procession stands as one of the largest gatherings of people in the history of India!

Exalted Nizam, the people of Hyderabad once more call for your guidance! Will you once more care for your subjects, and lead them into an age of great prosperity and immeasurable wealth? Will you build a civilization to stand the test of time?"

Introduction: "Greetings! I am Osman Ali Khan, by the grace of God Nizam of Hyderabad. Do you come seeking to share in the wealth of my realm?"

Defeat: "Such a shame, such a shame. I can only hope my subjects will not suffer as I have."
