This mod requires Gods and Kings & Brave New World. It replaces the City-State of Budapest with Pristina.
Overview[]
Hungary[]
The Hungarian people, or Magyar, originate from the Ural mountains in modern day Russia. In the 4th and 5th centuries AD, the Hungarians moved to the west of the Ural Mountains to the area between the southern Ural Mountains and the Volga River known as Bashkiria. Then, in the early 8th century, some of the Hungarians moved to the Don River to an area between the Volga, Don and the Seversky Donets rivers.
Stephen I[]
The Grand Prince Géza was the first ruler to establish a semblance of order over the roving and warlike Hungarian horde, and initiated moves to Christianize the Magyar/ Hungarians by appealing to the Holy Roman Emperor Otto I for Christian missionaries. His move has been termed the "Quedlinburg Mission." Fortunately, for the Hungarians, Otto did not take the request seriously. Although a number of German Benedictine missionaries came to the Hungarian lands and began the process of Christianization, their methods were so crude that they caused many problems and delayed progress.
Dawn of Man[]
Great Stephen I, the first King of the Hungary. Your kingdom was a monarchy in Central Europe that existed from the Middle Ages into the Twentieth Century. The Principality of Hungary emerged as a Christian kingdom by your coronation at Esztergom in 1000. From then on, your family led the holy monarchy for over 300 years! The Kingdom of Hungary rose to prominence in Europe, and was described as part of the Western world by the 12th century. Due to the Ottoman occupation of the central and southern territories in the 16th century, the monarchy split into three parts: the Habsburg Royal Hungary, Ottoman Hungary and the semi-independent Principality of Transylvania. Though it would never again be this great, your people would play a part in the history of the world as part of the Austrio-Hungarian Empire.7
Holy King Stephen, may you once again create a strong estate. Will you become powerful enough to maintain your holy land under pagan pressure? Will your righteous fighting force awe the world? Can you build a civilization that will stand the test of time?
Introduction: "I am Stephen, King of Hungary and humble servant of the Lord. You were terribly mistaken if you had thought that you could grab these lands without a fight."
Introduction: "Glory of the most high be upon you, wanderer. I am Stephen, first King of Hungary and Saint. Bow before your Lord and Saviour."
Defeat: "Forgive me God, that I wasn't strong enough to carry this burden."
Defeat: "If this be His will... Finish it..."
