Defense Expanded is a mod by Grant. This mod expands defensive gameplay by adding new defensive buildings, as well as adding new abilities to existing defensive buildings; it also changes the function of Forts and adds a new defensive improvement.

Mechanics[]

Defense Expanded dramatically reduces the default hit points and strength of cities. Cities founded in the Ancient Era have a base strength of 2; a Palace increases this strength by 2 points, and nearby Hills increase it by 3 points.

The production costs of units are doubled in Defense Expanded, although certain defensive buildings will significantly reduce the production costs of specific types of units.
