East Turkestan[]
East Turkestan, officially Turkic Islamic Republic of East Turkestan or TIRET, was a short-lived breakaway Islamic republic founded on 12 November 1933; it was the first state to style itself as an Islamic Republic. Centred on Kashgar, the republic was was primarily the product of an independence movement of the Uyghur population living there and more broadly of Turkic-ethnicity in character, including Kyrgyz and other Turkic peoples in its government and its population. With the sacking of Kashgar in 1934 by Hui warlords nominally allied with the Kuomintang government in Nanjing, the first republic was effectively eliminated. Its example, however, served to some extent as inspiration for the founding of a Second East Turkestan Republic a decade later and continues to influence modern Uyghur nationalist support for the creation of an independent East Turkestan.
Sabit Damolla[]
Sabit Damolla was a Uyghur independence movement leader who led the Hotan rebellion against the Xinjiang Province government of Jin Shuren and later the Uyghur leader Khoja Niyaz. He is widely known as the first and only prime minister of the short-lived Islamic Republic of East Turkestan from November 12, 1933 until the republic's defeat in May 1934.

Upon declaring independence, you sent representatives far and wide, to meet with delegates from the Soviet Union and Afghanistan to recognise your fledgling nation. And while these efforts did not end up succeeding, you set a precedent for independence for your nation. From the northern rim of the Tarim Basin to Khotan in the south, your independent state’s 41 cannon announcement outside the Old City of Kashgar once again woke your people to the advantages of independence.

It seems as if they are even slaughtering your people. You must act quick, stand in opposition to these authoritarians, and lead your people out of the darkness, and into independence. Can you keep your country independent from the authoritarians? Will you build a civilization that can stand the test of time?"
