Overview[]

The Britons[]

The Britons, also known as Celtic Britons or Ancient Britons, were indigenous Celtic people who inhabited Great Britain from at least the British Iron Age into the Middle Ages, at which point their culture and language diverged into the modern Welsh, Cornish and Bretons (among others). They spoke the Common Brittonic language, the ancestor to the modern Brittonic languages.

Arthur[]

King Arthur was a legendary ruler of Britain whose life and deeds became the basis for a collection of tales known as the Arthurian legends. As the leading figure in British mythology, King Arthur is a national hero and a symbol of Britain's heroic heritage. But his appeal is not limited to Britain. The Arthurian story—with its elements of mystery, magic, love, war, adventure, betrayal, and fate—has touched the popular imagination and has become part of the world's shared mythology.

Dawn of Man[]

"Awaken and rise from Avalon, Once and Future King, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon and one of the Nine Worthies. Britain has changed during your long slumber, and long is the trail of time since the Battle of Camlann, where you slayed your mortal foe, Mordred. But much remains the same. You are still the rightwise king, the only one who shall wield Excalibur. You are still the righteous, magnanimous, chivalrous, and courageous king that the island of Britain once knew. You are still beloved by your people, and your name still strikes fear into those who would seek to usurp your kingdom and take the glory for themselves.

So quick, Arthur, mount your steed once more, and take up arms for the cause of the Britons. There are still many who long to serve such a noble king once more, to bear arms for a great ruler and a good man. So assemble, once more, your Knights of the Round Table, and set out on a virtuous quest. Whether this is to find the Holy Grail, or to bring about another golden age for the Britons, is up to you. Can you and your knights bring about another era of gallantry and glory? Can you build a civilization to stand the test of time?"

Introduction: "Hail, stranger. I am Arthur, rightwise ruler of the Britons. Have you come to join my court?"

Defeat: "You may have bested me this day, but mark my words: I shall return with all my knights, on the day that my people call for aid!"
