Overview[]

Greco-Bactria[]

The Greco-Bactrian Kingdom was the easternmost part of the Hellenistic world, covering Bactria and Sogdiana in Central Asia from 250 to 125 BC. It was centered around the north of present-day Afghanistan. The expansion of the Greco-Bactrians into present-day northern India and Pakistan from 180 BC established the Indo-Greek Kingdom, which was to last until around 10 AD.

Demetrius I[]

Demetrius I was a Greek king (reigned c. 200–180 BC) of Bactria. He was the son of Euthydemus and succeeded him around 200 BC, after which he conquered extensive areas in what now is now Afghanistan and Pakistan; thus creating an Indo-Greek Kingdom far from Hellenistic Greece. He was never defeated in battle and was posthumously qualified as the Invincible (Aniketos) on the pedigree coins of his successor Agathocles.

Dawn of Man[]

"Hail mighty Demetrius, O invincible king of Bactria! The land you rule is an exotic one, a last bastion of Greek culture at the edge of the known world. Renowed for your military prowess, never once were you defeated in battle, and hailed as a second Alexander, you launched expeditions into well beyond the Indus river; there, a new Indo-Greek kingdom would be formed, combining Hellenistic culture and Buddhism.

Great King! Untold glories unfold themselves as new exotic horizons open up on these new lands; will you once more take command of the Greeks, and the Bactrians, and Indians and whomever else dares be brave enough to follow you into battle? Will you build a civilization that will stand the test of time?"

Introduction: "Dispense presentations. You have reached Bactria; congratulations! What do you plan on doing next?"

Defeat: "You are a though one, I'll give you that. Keep it up kid, you're going places."
