The United States of America is a world "super-power" (which more or less means that it possesses weapons capable of destroying everything on the planet). A relatively young civilization, the United States formed in the 18th century, nearly self-destructed in the 19th century, and became the most powerful and dominant military, technological, cultural and economical civilization in the 20th. One can hardly guess what will happen to it in the 21st.
Barack Obama[]
Barack Hussein Obama II, more commonly known as Barack Obama, was the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the first African American president in American history. Obama previously served as a U.S. senator representing Illinois from 2005 to 2008 and as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004. During his first term, his administration responded to the 2008 financial crisis, oversaw the end of the Iraq War and ordered Operation Neptune Spear, the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, and ordered the 2011 military intervention in Libya to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973. In his second term, Obama advocated for gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, took steps to combat climate change, signing the Paris Agreement, a major international climate agreement, and an executive order to limit carbon emissions. Obama also presided over the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and other legislation passed in his first term. He initiated sanctions against Russia following the invasion in Ukraine and again after Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections, ordered military intervention in Iraq in response to gains made by ISIL following the 2011 withdrawal from Iraq. Obama promoted inclusion for LGBT Americans, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to publicly support same-sex marriage. Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize for efforts in international diplomacy.

Born in Honolulu, and spending much of your childhood in Indonesia, you had an entirely unique perspective as president. As president, you can celebrate your victories: responding to the GFC with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Obamacare, Operation Neptune Spear, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, Cuban Thaw, and Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. You promoted inclusion for LGBT Americans and supported same-sex marriage, championed greater gun control in the wake of Sandy Hook, protected 553,000,000 acres of federal lands and waters, and oversaw the cleanup of Deepwater Horizon and regulation to ensure it never happened again. Thanks, Obama!
Oh esteemed Barack Obama, your nation is now a house divided. While even you would admit your failures, your country is now in deep turmoil and unsure of itself. Some of these problems, like a lack of concern around Russia and Iran, you helped create, but the worst impulses unleashed, and lack of decorum and tolerance is something that is a whole new beast. Confront this evil, and set your country back on track once more. Can you restore your country's proud reputation, and lead America to a Promised Land? Will you build a civilization that can stand the test of time?
