The United States of America is a world "super-power" (which more or less means that it possesses weapons capable of destroying everything on the planet). A relatively young civilization, the United States formed in the 18th century, nearly self-destructed in the 19th century, and became the most powerful and dominant military, technological, cultural and economical civilization in the 20th. One can hardly guess what will happen to it in the 21st.
Andrew Jackson[]
Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States, serving from 1829 to 1837. Before his presidency, he gained fame as a general in the U.S. Army and served in both houses of the U.S. Congress. Jackson purchased a property later known as the Hermitage, becoming a wealthy planter who owned hundreds of African American slaves during his lifetime. He ran for president in 1824. He won a plurality of the popular and electoral vote, but no candidate won the electoral majority. With the help of Henry Clay, the House of Representatives elected John Quincy Adams as president. Jackson's supporters alleged that there was a "corrupt bargain" between Adams and Clay and began creating a new political coalition that became the Democratic Party in the 1830s. Jackson ran again in 1828, defeating Adams in a landslide despite issues such as his slave trading and his 'irregular' marriage. In 1830, he signed the Indian Removal Act. This act, which has been described as ethnic cleansing, displaced tens of thousands of Native Americans from their ancestral homelands east of the Mississippi and resulted in thousands of deaths. In 1832, he vetoed a bill by Congress to reauthorize the Second Bank of the United States, arguing that it was a corrupt institution. After a lengthy struggle, the Bank was dismantled. In 1835, Jackson became the only president to pay off the national debt.

Andrew Jackson, the people of the American nation call upon you to guide them. As the seventh President of the United States and the founding father of the Democratic Party, your presidency would be one of grave division. At once a champion of the common man and a staunch proponent of democracy, you sought to thwart the growing power of the wealthy and corrupt elite. Yet, it was also your heavy-handed approach against your opposition, as well as your devastating order to displace countless Native Americans, that has left your reputation muddied.
President Jackson, though your administration may be fraught, the people call for you once more to give them voice. Can you put down the corrupt ambitions of the political elite, even if by force? Can you do what must be done to ensure the longevity of the American nation? Can you build a civilization that can stand the test of time?
Introduction: I am Andrew Jackson, president of the great and free nation of America. So long as you do not think yourself higher, we shall get along just fine.
